Say YES to Listening more!
🙋🏻♀️ For me to balance between speaking and listening is imperative – it’s directly connected to how much I listen to myself. The noise of useless words that many of us are throwing away in an attempt to get a grip on something or on someone else’s attention, creates a thick fog that makes it really difficult to actually understand what’s going on and to understand each other. Sometimes the more we talk, the less we’re able to communicate.
🙋🏻♀️ Today I had 8 people in online workout Class without a good www/zoom Connection – I talked less and cued more – and therefore communication was ok!
But as a Health Coach I am trained to listen carefully and not to fill in the “problems” of my customers with my kind of great solutions. Within a working relation and being assigned to this role – it’s all quite easy. The last new years I have been focussing on online coachings, but without camera or tone of voice – only writing in one digital channel togehter, in Dutch, German or English. That’s LISTENING 2.0 and it’s trains and balances me using my few words to the Max! Anyone knows such a channel for my private life – then let me know! #lol
🙋🏻♀️ So I focus in my private and business life on the following: Wom I speaking to and what is my experience concerning past outcomes, I think longer before I speak, no jumping into conclusions, what is/could be important for the other, make notes in my head/paper, I make short ‘breaks’ in the conversation (did I understand it right that you…) and I try to understand the other in an essential way.
💡It all makes a big difference for me and it improves the way I communicate with others and I am being received in the www/world. More over I don’t carry too much responsabiliteit for others.
